Terms of Service

1. The service

IndieCrate lets visitors browse approved app submissions. Signed-in users can create a profile, submit apps, edit or delete their own submissions, and like apps submitted by other users. Sign-in is provided through Google or GitHub. IndieCrate is provided as a place to showcase projects; it does not sell, operate, or endorse the apps that users submit.

2. Accounts

You must use your own Google or GitHub account and provide truthful information when creating and maintaining your IndieCrate profile. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and for keeping access to your identity provider secure. Google's and GitHub's own terms and privacy policies also apply to your use of those sign-in services.

3. App submissions and review

You may submit an app name, tagline, category, story, screenshot, and icon. Submissions are reviewed before they appear in the public browse experience. A submission may be pending, approved, or denied. Approval is not guaranteed, and IndieCrate may decline to publish or may remove a submission when it is inappropriate, misleading, unlawful, infringing, or otherwise unsuitable for the service.

You may edit or permanently delete apps that you submitted from your profile. Deleting an app also removes its likes. You are responsible for making sure that your submission and the media you upload are accurate and that you have the rights and permissions needed to share them.

4. Content rights

You keep the rights you have in content you submit. To operate IndieCrate, you give IndieCrate permission to store, reproduce, format, and publicly display your submission, including its text, icon, and screenshot, in the service and its browse and detail pages. This permission lasts while the submission is available on IndieCrate. You confirm that this permission does not violate anyone else's rights.

5. Community use

You may not use IndieCrate to:

• break the law or violate another person's rights;
• submit content that is abusive, deceptive, hateful, or harmful;
• upload malware or content that you do not have permission to share;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent an app; or
• interfere with the service, its authentication, or its community features.

Likes are intended as genuine community feedback. Do not manipulate likes or use automated activity to distort engagement.

6. Changes and availability

IndieCrate may change, suspend, or discontinue features, submissions, or the service. We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors. We may update these terms when the service or applicable requirements change. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.

7. Suspension and termination

IndieCrate may limit or end access to an account or remove content if these terms are violated, if doing so is needed to protect the service or other users, or if required by law. You can stop using IndieCrate at any time and delete your own app submissions through your profile.

8. Third-party services

IndieCrate relies on third-party services, including Google and GitHub for sign-in. IndieCrate is not responsible for the availability or content of services that it does not control.
